Tapa cloths

 Tapa Cloths

Hi bloggers, we have been making tapa cloths this week. Tapa cloths are like cloths with patterns and they are very soft and also very thin.

First we draw our patterns on our art book, we had to draw 4 patterns and I was done. Once you have done your patterns, we draw our patterns with a vivid on our square paper. Next we had to dye our patterns and our dye was brown, dark red, red, orange, light orange, and light brown. We had to wait for it to dry after we had done our dying. After we had done all of those things we scrunch it up. I had to scrunch it up a few times, after we had done scrunching we take it to iron and then when the iron is finished the paper is soft and scrunched like a tapa cloth. This is how we make a tapa cloth.

Basketball

Basketball

Hi bloggers on the 9th of september, we have been playing basketball at the end of the day of school. The whole lesson of basketball was about 1 hour long.

We went out onto the court to play basketball with the coaches called Ronan and Mikey. They taught us how to play basketball and tricks. We did tricks with the basketball.

To start off is we had to play tag on the line. If you are tagged you are out. If someone hits the bottle and gives it to the coach everybody is back in the game.

First was easy, we only had to bounce the ball as many times as we can before dropping it. I was pretty good at it, I bounced the ball about 100 times without dropping it.

Second was hard, we had to bounce the ball between our legs and bounce it like a V shape. I only did it 1 time then I failed by hitting one of the legs or missing it.

Third was extremely hard, it was similar to the second one but we had to walk while bouncing it. It was so tricky, that I also only did it 1 time then I stumbled.

Fourth was also very hard, we had to bounce the ball and we had to lie down then roll down and get back up. Actually it got a little easier after I practised a few times.

Fifth was similar to the first one but we had to bounce the ball backwards. I like only did 10 times then the ball bounced away. It was very hard but soon got easier when I tried.

Sixth was that we had to bounce the ball around our body. I like bounced about 1 loop around my body then I failed. So did the other people fail, only one got it.

Seventh was that we had to bounce the ball and clap as many times as we can. I could clap 5 times before the ball fall. It was my highest score on it.

Eigth was that we had to bounce then turn around and catch the ball. I could do it sometimes but I could not do it often. Also many people couldn't do it.

Finally it was time for another game is that we had to try get the ball in 10 seconds then it was time for our teacher to do it. Our teacher won the game.

It was the end of the day and it had been about 1 hour since we played basketball. It was fun that one time, so we could play basketball another time later.

Monoprints

Monoprints

Hi bloggers, during week 7 we have been making our monoprints and mine was a lizard.

We first sketch the animals in our art book and make patterns for the background. Next we copy our animal on a A2 type of paper after we trace the A4 board around our animal. Then we get another A2 type of paper and then we copy our animal and background on the other paper. When we are done, we get a A4 board and paint with a roller and roll on the board. Later we press our picture on the board we painted on and then we trace it with a pencil. When we are done with our tracing we leave our picture to dry for a few days. Later when our picture is dry we take it and then we add some pastels and we trace the outline of our animal or we can also colour in the patterns.
